Senior Dan "Phooey" Yang had an extremely strong season opening tournament this past weekend in Southern California.

In game one of the tournament, Phooey recorded 22 kills against Northwood University. In the second game, a win against Cal Poly Pomona, she again came up big offensively for the Urban Knights by posting 16 kills. In all four games of the tournament, Phooey recorded kills in the double digits. She is currently averaging over four kills per game (1st on the team), and she is second on the team in digs with 24.

Junior Captain Megan Bucci had a tremendous week for the Urban Knights and was instrumental in their 7-1 win over the Bruins.

Bucci was involved in a positive way both offensively and defensively in over 75 percent of the plays during Saturday’s game. She scored an amazing goal to take back control of the game after Bethany scored late in the first half. Megan finished the game against the Bruins with one goal and two assists.
