Academy of Art University is in the process of becoming a NCAA Division II member institution. Our institution is committed and obligated to operating its athletics program in a manner that is consistent with the NCAA, Pacific-West Conference and Academy of Art University rules and regulations. The key function of the Compliance Office is to coordinate, monitor and verify compliance with all NCAA requirements, and to educate the various members of the University and the athletics community regarding NCAA regulations.

Each member institution is responsible for upholding the rules and regulations of the NCAA. At the Academy of Art University, the President of the university is ultimately responsible for the administration of all aspects of the Urban Knights athletics program, from the actions of staff members to the actions of any other individual or organization engaged in activities promoting the athletic interests of the Academy of Art University.

The Academy of Art University is committed and obligated to the principle of institutional control in operating its athletics program in a manner consistent with the letter and the spirit of NCAA, Pac West Conference, and University rules and regulations. In striving for academic and athletic excellence, AAU seeks the highest standard of ethical conduct. Involvement by representatives of AAU's athletics interests (boosters) is critical to the program's success; however, any inappropriate or even inadvertent activity could jeopardize both the eligibility of current or prospective student-athletes and the compliance of the university with NCAA regulations.

Whom to Call with NCAA Questions:

If you have any questions regarding NCAA rules, please contact Stephanie Strowbridge (see info below) or the NCAA before doing something that may jeopardize a student-athlete's eligibility to participate in intercollegiate athletics.
